Summary

Biography

2023: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Earned a 2023-24 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. For her career, appeared in 28 games with two starts. Played a total of 1,034 minutes.

2022: Made contributions for the Golden Eagles once again in her second year with the program. Appeared in 10 games and played a total of 177 minutes. Got her season off to a strong start with 11 minutes of playing time in a 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Aug. 27. Played a season-high 33 minutes in a 1-0 win over Biola on Sept. 14. Also played 29 minutes in a 1-0 win over Concordia on Sept. 8.

2021: Made a big impact in her first season of competition with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 18 games with two starts. Played a total of 857 minutes. Made her Cal State LA debut and played 46 minutes in a 1-1 tie at Concordia on Sept. 4. Got her first start and played a season-high 72 minutes at Biola on Sept. 14. Also started and played 43 minutes at Azusa Pacific on Sept. 18. Played 70 minutes in a 0-0 tie at San Francisco State on Oct. 1.

2020: Earned 2020-21 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors in her first year with the program. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At UC Riverside: Competed in nine games as a freshman for the Highlanders in 2017. Scored her first collegiate goal against San Diego State. Did not compete in 2018 in her final year with the program. Was on the school’s Honor Roll.

At Fullerton Union High School: Earned first-team All-Freeway League honors and was the league’s Female Athlete of the Year. Was her team’s Most Valuable Player and earned the Golden Boot Award and Best Offensive Player Award. Was on a team that won the league track and field championship. Competed in soccer, volleyball and track and field.

Personal: Daughter of Victor and Lucy Avina. Earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in microbiology. Is pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at Cal State LA. Enjoys baking and gardening. Lists representing Mexico on the U20 National Team, winning a championship at the Cordial Cup in Austria, and winning the 2022 CCAA Tournament with Cal State LA as her most exciting experiences in sports.
