Summary

Biography

2019: Competed well for the Golden Eagles’ cross country team in the fall and competed in four events in his final year with the program. Finished 84th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 29:52.35 over 8,000 meters. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 26:59.15 at the Coyote Challenge. Was on the track and field roster in the spring (2020), but did not compete in any meets for the Golden Eagles before the season was halted after three meets. Earned a 2019-20 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award.

2018: Did not compete for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall, but did run for the Golden Eagles’ track and field team in the spring (2019). Had best times of 4:30.54 in the 1,500 and 9:57.99 in the 3,000.

2017: Ran for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall and competed in four meets. Finished 89th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 31:38.0 over 8,000 meters. Competed for the Golden Eagles’ track and field team in the spring (2018). Had a best time of 2:09.10 in the 800.

2016: Was on the roster of Cal State LA’s cross country team, but did not compete in any meets.

At Monrovia High School: Competed in basketball and track and field. Earned All-League honors and was on a city championship team.

Personal: Son of Maria Ayala. Majoring in mechanical engineering. Enjoy playing basketball, trying new food places and hanging out with his friends. Lists competing in the state championships in high school as his most exciting experience in sports.
