Summary

Biography

2006: Had a sensational junior season and helped lead the Golden Eagles to a best-ever fourth-place finish in the nation. Earned All-America honors by finishing 24th in the country. Also earned All-West Region honors by finishing fifth in 21:27.09 while helping the Golden Eagles to a regional title. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors after finishing third in the conference with a time of 23:06.00. Also picked up USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. In the spring of 2007, she earned All-America honors in track by finishing fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase and she also earned All-America honors in indoor track by finishing eighth in the mile.
 
2005: Earned All-CCAA honors by finishing 15th in 22:45.00 and helping the Golden Eagles to a fourth-place team finish. Took 18th in the West Regional, just missing All-Region honors. Helped Cal State L.A. to a fifth-place team finish.
 
At L.A. City College: Finished second in the state in the 3,000 steeplechase.
 
At John Marshall HS:
 
Personal: Daughter of Juan Alburez and Bertha Garcia. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys running, biking and swimming. Lists qualifying and competing in nationals and earning All-Academic honors as her most exciting experiences in sports.
