Biography

2013-14: Had a third sensational season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Had a 12-9 overall record in singles, including a 10-7 mark in dual matches at the No. 1 position. Also had a 12-9 record in doubles, including a 9-7 record at the No. 1 spot with Sydney Postal. Was named the West Region Senior Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors and was named Cal State L.A.'s Exceptional Student-Athlete of the Year (female) for 2013-14. For her career, had a 48-23 overall record in singles, including a 36-16 record in dual matches. Had a 37-28 overall record in doubles, including a 31-20 mark in dual matches. Recorded a total of 67 points in dual matches in her career. Finished her career No. 3 in singles wins, No. 5 in doubles wins and No. 3 in overall wins with 85 (singles and doubles).

2012-13: Had a second tremendous season for the Golden Eagles. Moved up to the No. 2 singles spot and had outstanding success. Compiled a 17-7 overall record in singles and was 12-5 in dual matches, all at No. 2 singles. Also played No. 1 doubles with Christie Lau and had an 11-9 overall record, including a 10-8 record in dual matches. Reached the round of 16 in the ITA Fall Regionals at Cal State L.A. and then won three matches and advanced to the semi-finals of the “A” Flight against Division I competition at Cal State Fullerton in October. Won a pair of three-set matches against players from nationally-ranked Grand Canyon, Rollins College and UC San Diego in dual matches. Seven of her 24 singles matches went three sets and she was 4-3 in those contests. Was named the recipient of the West Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. Was named the 2012 Joe Shapiro Scholarship Recipient and also earned the team’s Coaches’ Award.

2011-12: Had an outstanding first season for the Golden Eagles as a freshman. Provided the starting lineup with a big boost. Had an 19-7 overall record in singles and a 14-4 mark in dual matches. Had a 13-3 record at No. 3 singles. Had a 14-10 overall record in doubles, including a 12-5 mark at No. 2 doubles with Jill Sangria. Won three matches and reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Fall Regionals at Cal State L.A. in her first matches with the program.

At Schillerschule High School: Competed in tennis and hockey. Won the regional championships in hockey and came in eighth in the German championships.

Personal: Daughter of Christoph and Susanne Hemmerich. Majoring in communications. Enjoys cooking, shopping and beach volleyball. Lists winning the Dunlop Junior Circuit championship with 14s, winning the regional singles championship with 18s and winning regional championships with her German team this year as her most exciting experiences in sports.
