Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Had another strong season to complete an outstanding four-year Cal State LA career. Appeared in 25 matches and 96 sets. Had 96 digs and was fifth on the team in aces with 17. Also had nine set assists and two kills. Had a career-high 18 digs in a win over Stanislaus State on Nov. 8. Had a career-high three aces in a win over Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 24. For her career, appeared in 75 matches and 238 sets. Had 337 digs, 44 assists and 33 aces.

2013: Continued to show improvement in her third year with the program. Played in 23 matches and a total of 71 sets. Was sixth on the team with 143 digs. Also recorded 23 set assists and five service aces. Had two service aces, three set assists and 12 digs against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Nov. 13. Had a career-high 17 digs in a match at Cal State Monterey Bay on Nov. 9. Reached double figures in digs seven times. Had a career-high six set assists in a match at Cal State East Bay on Nov. 8.

2012: Was an important part of the team in her second year with the program. Played in 13 matches and a total of 37 sets. Recorded 45 digs and two service aces. Had a season-high seven digs in a five-set match against Sonoma State on Sept. 29. Had five digs in four other matches. Earned a California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award.

2011: Saw playing time immediately in her first year with the program. Played in a total of 34 sets and had 53 digs and nine service aces. Recorded a career-high five service aces in a match at California Baptist on Sept. 14. Had a season-high 11 digs in a win at Humboldt State on Sept. 22. Recorded a kill in a win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 14.

At Frontier High School: Was the team captain and Defensive Player of the Year in 2010. Earned first-team All-League and second-team All-Area honors. Earned first-team All-League and first-team All-Area honors in 2009 and also received Max Preps All-State Division II honors. Team won the CIF Central Valley Championship. Was the Defensive Player of the Year and earned second-team All-League honors in 2008. Was named her team’s Most Improved Player. Was named the team’s Rookie of the Year in 2007 and earned All-League honorable mention. Earned the team GPA award in 2008 and 2009. Also competed in track and field in high school.

Personal: Daughter of Cliff and Leslie Joseph. Majoring in political science. Enjoys playing the guitar, writing songs and singing. Lists winning a valley title and playing on the 2010 USA A2 team as her most exciting experiences in sports. Also played on the Southern California HP Global Challenge team that won the silver medal in the 2009 Global Challenge.
