Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Completed her outstanding four-year Cal State LA career with another strong season. Appeared in 25 matches and 97 sets. Was third on the team in kills with 265, third in aces with 20, third in blocks with 60 and second in points with 315. Also had seven assists and 153 digs. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Had a career-high 16 kills in a five-set win over Stanislaus State on Nov. 8. Had 15 kills in three other matches. Reached double figures in kills 16 times. Recorded a triple-double with 14 kills, a season-high 10 blocks and 10 digs in a five-set win over Dominguez Hills on Sept. 30. Earned CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5 after leading the Golden Eagles to wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills, Stanislaus State and Chico State. Recorded 40 kills, 18 blocks and 23 digs in the wins. Had four double-doubles for the season. For her career, appeared in 86 matches and 314 sets. Had 662 kills, 233 blocks, 45 service aces 430 digs and 828 points. Finished her career No. 8 all-time in block assists with 224.
 
2013: Had another impressive season for the Golden Eagles and battled successfully through early-season injuries. Appeared in 29 of 30 matches and a total of 115 sets. Was fifth on the team in kills with 186, third in blocks with 75, fifth in digs with 164 and fifth in points with 243. Also had 17 service aces, including a career-high five against Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 4. Reached double figures in kills six times, including the final three matches of the season. Had a season-high 13 kills in matches against Chico State on Oct. 11 and Nov. 6. Set a new career high for digs with 18 against Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 25. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award.

2012: Showed dramatic improvement in her second year on the court and earned All-CCAA second-team honors. Appeared in 28 matches and a total of 96 sets. Was third on the team in kills with 202, second in blocks with 98 and second in points with 260. Recorded a rare triple-double in a five-set match against Sonoma State on Sept. 29. Had 12 kills, 10 digs and a season-high 10 blocks in the contest. Had a season-high 14 kills against San Francisco State on Sept. 28. Had a season-high 11 digs to go along with 12 kills in win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Nov. 7. Reached double figures in kills nine times, including three of the final five matches. Also competed for Cal State L.A.’s track and field team in the spring (2013). Had a best mark of 5-3 in the high jump.

2011: Saw playing time for the Golden Eagles and appeared in four matches and a total of six sets. Had a season-high five kills and one service ace against Chico State on Nov. 11. Also had three kills and two digs against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 25.

2010: Did not compete for the Golden Eagles and was a redshirt.

At Alta Loma High School: Earned team’s Best Offense and Most Valuable Player awards as a senior.

Personal: Daughter of Dedgrick and Dana Carter. Majoring in anthropology. Enjoys reading, eating and sports. Lists winning a bronze medal with her 17 elite team at the 2009 Junior Olympics as her most exciting experience in sports.
