LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's golf team matched a program record with three All-California Collegiate Athletic Association selections when the team was announced on Tuesday by the conference.
Joshlyn Ayala and
Daniela Andrade earned first-team honors while newcomer
Talia Gutman earned honorable mention in voting by the conference coaches. Ayala earned her second selection, Andrade earned her third and Gutman earned her second and first with Cal State LA.
Ayala, who finished third at the CCAA Championships for the second straight year, currently leads the Golden Eagles with a 74.12 scoring average. She has seven top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments this season, including four top-five finishes.
Andrade, the CCAA Freshman of the Year in 2024, was named to the first team for a third straight season. She is second on the team with a 75.76 scoring average and has three top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.
Gutman, who was the CCAA Freshman of the Year in 2022 and earned All-CCAA honorable mention in 2024 at Sonoma State, has been a big contributor in her one year with the Golden Eagles. She is third on the team with a 76.12 scoring average and has a pair of top-five finishes, including a second-place finish at the Swan Memorial in September.
Cal State San Marcos, which won its seventh straight conference title, had five golfers earn All-CCAA honors, including CCAA Golfer of the Year Avery Foster. She was joined on the first team by teammates Elleclair Leedom, Kiara Hernandez, Abby Sickles and Carmella Carlisi. Cal State East Bay's Torrie Bowman and Carlota Eroles and Cal State Monterey Bay's Cathy Tong also earned first-team honors.
Gutman, Khivi Kaur of Cal State Monterey Bay, Morgan Pittman of Cal State Monterey Bay and Chantel Tsai of Cal State East Bay earned honorable mention.
Cal State LA will return to action next Monday in the NCAA West Regional. The Golden Eagles are seeded No. 8 for the regional with the top-five advancing to the nationals.
