PUEBLO, COLORADO -- Cal State LA's women's golf team battled through a long opening day at the NCAA West Regionals, a day made even longer by the threat of rain later in the week.

The Golden Eagles and the other 17 teams played 35 or 36 of the 54-holes of the tournament on Monday after organizers decided to try to finish the tourney by Tuesday with threatening weather expected on Wednesday. Cal State LA, which is ranked seventh in the region, is currently 11th at 73-over-par late in the second round. The field will complete the second round early Tuesday and then complete the final 18 holes of the tournament.

The top five teams will advance to the national championships. Tough conditions at the Pueblo Country Club have contributed to extremely high scores.

Dallas Baptist leads the tournament with a score of 34-over-par, while Cal State San Marcos is second at 36-over-par. St. Mary's of Texas and Colorado State-Pueblo are tied for third at 45-over-par and UT Tyler is fifth at 51-over-par.

Cal State Monterey Bay is sixth at 57-over-par and Cal State East Bay is 16th at 80-over-par

Rilee Crosby is tied for 37th after the first two rounds for the Golden Eagles with a total of 158 after rounds of 78 and 80, while Joshlyn Ayala is tied for 42nd with one hole remaining in her second round.

Daniela Andrade and Talia Gutman are tied for 75th after completing both rounds at 165. Andrade had rounds of 81 and 84, while Gutman had rounds of 84 and 81. Both are 23-over-par.

Sarah Amaya is 81st with a score of 24-over-par with one hole remaining in her second round. She birdied her final hole before play was stopped for the day.

The second round will be completed early Tuesday with the third and final round beginning next.
