Golden Eagles Remain Sixth In NCAA Poll

LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's golf team stayed steady in the third official NCAA Division II West Region rankings released on Friday.

The Golden Eagles, who are trying to reach the NCAA Tournament for a third straight year, remained at No. 6 in the rankings released by the NCAA Golf Championships Committee. That matches the highest regional ranking for the Golden Eagles, who finished in a tie for sixth at the regionals last season, just one spot out of the fifth-place finish they needed to advance to nationals. Cal State LA led after the first of three rounds last year.

Cal State LA has been ranked sixth in each of the regional polls this season.

The California Collegiate Athletic Association has four teams in the rankings, with Cal State San Marcos at No. 3, Cal State LA at No. 6, Cal State East Bay at No. 11 and Cal State Monterey Bay at No. 12.

The West Region consists of programs from the CCAA, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, the Lone Star Conference, the Pacific West Conference and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

There will be 18 teams that qualify for the West Regional. All five conferences have automatic qualifying bids and all five award their automatic bid to the winner of the conference tournament. The next 13 spots will be awarded via at-large bids, by ranking, to complete the field.

Dallas Baptist is ranked first in the region and followed by the University of Texas at Tyler, Cal State San Marcos, St. Mary's (Texas), Colorado State-Pueblo, Cal State LA, Midwestern State, West Texas A&M, Simon Fraser, Point Loma, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M International, Montana State Billings, Westmont, Colorado Christian, Hawaii Hilo and Western Washington.

The Golden Eagles have had seven top-four finishes in their nine tournaments so far in 2025-26 with a pair of runner-up finishes and four top-three finishes.

Cal State LA will complete its regular season in the CCAA Championships in Stockton on April 20-22.

The NCAA West Regionals will be held at the Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado. The Golden Eagles finished second in a 21-team field on that course in October.
