GOODYEAR, ARIZONA -- Cal State LA's Daniela Andrade recorded her best finish of the season and the Golden Eagles placed sixth as a team in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Saturday.

Andrade shot a final-round 73 to finish second in a field of 142 with a two-day score of 141. She shared the overnight lead after matching the best round of her career with a 68 on Friday. She battled evenly with West Texas A&M's Mia Hammerschmid, who birdied her last two holes to finish at 5-under-par 139. Andrade, who had seven birdies in her round on Friday, had a birdie on the 17th hole on Saturday to get to 4-under-par, but Hammerschmid finished strong as well for the win.

The Golden Eagles shot a final round of 301 on Saturday and finished sixth in a field of 27 with a two-day score of 596. Cal State LA got as high as second during the final round in a tightly-packed field that had several of the top-ranked teams in th4e West Region. Cal State LA was ranked sixth in the most recent rankings released on Friday.

Colorado State-Pueblo won the tournament with a two-day score of 579, six shots ahead of West Texas A&M. Cal State East Bay was third at 588, UT Tyler was fourth at 590 and Cal State San Marcos was fifth at 593 and Cal State LA was sixth at 596.

Joshlyn Ayala finished in a tie for 34th along with teammate Sarah Amaya, who was competing as an individual. Ayala had a pair of birdies in her round of 76 that gave her a two-day score of 150. Amaya also had a pair of birdies during her round of 74 that also left her at 150.

Rilee Crosby had one birdie while posting her second straight round of 76, which gave her a 36-hole score of 152 and a tie for 47th.

Talia Gutman had 13 pars to highlight her second round of 76 that gave her a two-day total of 153 and a tie for 58th.

Lisette Orellana had two birdies in her round of 77 that gave her a 36-hole score of 157 and a tie for 93rd.

Cal State LA will return to action on April 20 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships in Stockton.
