SANTA BARBARA -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team, playing short-handed, fell to host Westmont on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles, who lost to the Warriors in Los Angeles last month by a 4-3 count, fell to the Warriors again on Saturday, 5-2. Cal State LA (1-5) was unable to record two straight wins, while Westmont (7-5) moved two games over .500 with the victory.
After dropping the doubles points, the Golden Eagles managed a pair of singles wins for their two points.
Sofia Pavlova was impressive in a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sabina Salva at No. 1 singles, while
Macy Hinds picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles over Rylee Halsey.
Ainoho Salo had a tight battle at No. 4 singles, falling to Emma Rashid, 6-2, 5-7, (7-10) and
Charlotte Downs fell to Jessie Allen, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
Georgiana Parr fell at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, to Justie Spitzer and
Mane Sargsyan had to retire against Ellie Triplett at No. 3 singles.
Cal State LA will return to action on Monday, March 16, against Menlo.
