CARMEL -- Cal State LA's women's golf team played its best round of the tournament and finished on a positive note at the two-day, 36-hole Patriot Invitational.

The Golden Eagles climbed two places and finished sixth after a round of 14-over-par 298 at the par-71 Quail Lodge Golf Club. Cal State LA jumped past Sonoma State and Arkansas Tech and pulled to within five shots of fifth-place Biola.

Host Dallas Baptist won the event with a tournamente score of 885, two shots clear of second-place Harvard. Cal State San Marcos was third at 893, North Georgia was fourth at 897 and Biola was fifth at 914. Cal State LA's final round of 298 was the third-best of the day.

Daniela Andrade had the best day and best tournament finish for the Golden Eagles. She fired a 1-under-par 70 and finished in a tie for 11th at 225. She had four birdies on her round, including one on her final round of the day, the par-4 sixth hole. She had three birdies during a six-hole stretch on the back-nine.

Morgan Sjoerdsma finished in a tie for 24th after a final round of 74. She birdied her final hole of the day and climbed up nine spots on the leaderboard.

Harley Richardson had her best round of the tournament with a final round of 75. She finished 29th with a three-round score of 232. She also had a late birdie to help Cal State LA improve its team finish.

Brenna Ozel finished in a tie for 35th after a final round of 79 that included three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes, both par-5s.

Joshlyn Ayala shot a final round of 79 and finished in a tie for 56th at 242. 

Cal State LA will return to action on Monday, April 7 at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational in the last tournament before the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships beginning on April 21.
