VISTA -- Cal State LA's women's golf team held strong during a long and breezy day at the Fujikura Invitational hosted by Cal State San Marcos.
The Golden Eagles shot rounds of 302 and 307 at the Shadowridge Country Club and are third after two rounds with a total of 609. Tournament host Cal State San Marcos leads the tournament at 588 and Simon Fraser is second at 601. Cal State LA is two shots ahead of fellow California Collegiate Athletic Association program Cal State Monterey Bay and six shots ahead of Point Loma.
Rilee Crosby had the best individual performance for the Golden Eagles on Monday. She is in eighth place after the first day with rounds of 73 and 76 for a total of 149.Â
Joshlyn Ayala was next for the Golden Eagles and is in a tie for 13th with a total of 152 after shooting two rounds of 76.
Daniela Andrade and
Talia Gutman are both tied for 19th with a total of 154. Andrade had rounds of 79 and 75, while Gutman had rounds of 74 and 80.
Sarah Amaya is tied for 59th at 168 after rounds of 88 and 80.
The final round in the 54-hole tournament will be held on Tuesday.
