VISTA -- Cal State LA's women's golf team endured a long and frustrating day Monday at the Fujikura Invitational hosted by Cal State San Marcos at the Shadowridge Country Club.

The Golden Eagles find themselves in 11th place out of 14 teams in a strong field after 36 holes contested on Monday. Cal State LA shot rounds of 316 and 318 for a 36-hole total of 634 that is 58-over par.

It was a stunning result for the No. 23 Golden Eagles, who have three second-place finishes and two other top-five finishes in six tournaments so far this season. 

Daniela Andrade, who shared the individual title in her last outing at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, is in contention again this week. She is tied for 10th, six shots out of first, after rounds of 73 and 77, for a total of 6-over-par 150. She had three birdies on the day, including back-to-back birdies on the 18th and 1st holes on her way to a 1-over-par 73 in the opening round.

Carissa Freeman was next for the Golden Eagles and is in a tie for 33rd at 13-over-par 157 after rounds of 78 and 79. Sarah Amaya is in a tie for 57th at 19-over-par 163 after rounds of 83 and 80, Lehapi Veikune is in a tie for 65th at 21-over-par 165 after rounds of 83 and 82 and Morgan Sjoerdsma is in a tie for 69th at 23-over-par 167 after rounds of 82 and 85.

The final round of the 54-hole tournament will be held on Tuesday, weather permitting.
