Three Golden Eagles Earn District Academic Honors

LOS ANGELES -- Three members of Cal State LA's women's volleyball team were named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District team,  the College Sports Communicators organization announced on Tuesday.

Samarah DaCoud, Juliana Speiski and Madison Clark earned the recognition for Cal State LA.

The awards honor student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program (formerly known as the CoSIDA Academic All-America program) recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and be a starter or important reserve with at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50. Nominated athletes must have competed in at least 90% of the team's games or started at least 66 percent of their institution's games.

DaCoud had an exceptional second season with the Golden Eagles and earned second-team American Volleyball Coaches Association honors. She also earned first-team All-West Region and first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors.

She led the CCAA and was No. 13 in the nation with 467 kills and was No. 10 in the nation in kills per set with 4.41. DaCoud also led the conference with 528.5 points and was No. 10 in the nation in points per set with 4.99.

DaCoud is a business administration major with a 3.53 grade point average.

Speiski had an outstanding sophomore season for the Golden Eagles and was third on the team in digs with 225 and third in service aces with 26. She is a communications major with a 3.60 grade point average.

Clark stepped into a larger role for the Golden Eagles in her sophomore season and led the team with 83 blocks. She also had 65 kills and was fourth on the team with 108.5 points. She  is a biology major and carries a 3.85 grade point average.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.

DaCoud now advances to the Academic All-America ballot. The All-America team will be announced in January.

Cal State LA had an 17-9 overall record and reached the CCAA Tournament for a conference-leading 10th straight time. The Golden Eagles also recorded their 28th consecutive winning season.
