HAYWARD -- Cal State LA's women's golf team completed a successful fall season with a third-place finish at the Cal State East Bay Fall Invitational on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles finished with a 54-hole total of 913 after rounds of 311, 300 and 302 at the Stonebrae Country Club in Hayward. Cal State San Marcos won the event with a score of 896, while Simon Fraser was second at 906. The Golden Eagles finished two shots ahead of Western Washington and nine shots ahead of fifth-place Point Loma.

Talia Gutman set a new program record with a 6-under-par 66 in the second of three rounds. She went on to finish in a tie for fifth with a 54-hole total of 222. She had 11 birdies for the tournament, including six birdies with no bogeys in her record-setting round of 66. 

Joshlyn Ayala was next for the Golden Eagles, finishing in a tie for 10th at 226 after rounds of 74-76-76. She had a total of nine birdies over the three rounds.

Daniela Andrade had an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole for the Golden Eagles on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 24th with a score of 232 following rounds of 77-78-77. She had nine birdies and an eagle during the tournament.

Lisette Orellana finished in a tie for 30th for the Golden Eagles with a total of 236 following rounds of 82-80-74. She had five birdies for the tournament, including four on Tuesday when she shot her best round of the tournament.

Rilee Crosby finished in a tie for 36th for the Golden Eagles with a total of 238 following rounds of 79-81-78. She had six birdies, posting two during each round.

The Golden Eagles had a pair of third-place finishes and two second-place finishes in four fall tournaments, highlighted by a second-place finish at the NCAA West Regional Preview. Cal State LA will return to competition when the Golden Eagles host the LA Spring Kickoff on Feb. 2-3.
