LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's baseball team completed its 2024 season on an emotional Senior Day before Saturday's series finale with Stanislaus State.
After ceremonies honoring their 15 seniors, the Golden Eagles dropped the season finale to the Warriors, 14-9, in another exciting day at Reeder Field. Cal State LA (23-27, 17-23 CCAA) finished the season seventh in the CCAA, just two games out of a CCAA Tournament spot. The top six teams in the conference advanced to the tournament, which will be held next week at Cal Poly Pomona.
Cal State LA's resiliency was in full affect in Saturday's finale. After falling behind 10-1 in the fourth inning, the Golden Eagles pulled to within 10-9 in the seventh inning before the Warriors (19-27-1, 15-23 CCAA) tacked on four runs in the top of the eighth to record the victory.

Moises Escobedo,
Joel Martinez and
Kai Penuelas.Â
Maki pitched a scoreless second inning, Escobedo retired the only two batters he faced in the fifth inning, Martinez had a three-inning stretch and Penuelas tossed a scoreless ninth inning for the Golden Eagles.
Kody Cardoza went 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win, while Trent Huff, Noah Chelberg and Quinn Oliver finished up.
Isaiah Marquez hit his 10th home run of the season, a three-run shot as part of a four-run rally that pulled the Golden Eagles to within 10-5.
Elijah Jackson also hit a home run, his seventh of the season, to make it 10-6 in the sixth.
Anthony Angel Jr. singled in a run and
Andrew Duran had a two-run double in the seventh to get the Golden Eagles to within 10-9.
Marquez had four RBI in the game, while Duran was 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Andrew Tovar and
Brayan Nunez had two hits each.
