LA MIRADA -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team found the going a bit tough Tuesday at Biola.
The Golden Eagles dropped the doubles point and were unable to strike back in singles competition and fell to the host Eagles, 7-0, at the Biola Tennis Center. Cal State LA (2-13) was coming off a win over Chaminade, but couldn't produce a second straight victory against host Biola (12-7).
Sarah Olmos and
Hideka Takamura fell at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, to Brooke Fager and Alexandria Mann and
Sakura Kurokawa and
Alexandra Hincu fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, to Colbeyshae Emery and Lilly McNeill.
Rochelle Suarez and
Courtlyn Lam were tied with Isabella Chavarrisa and Kailee Mazzeo at No. 3 doubles, 3-3, when the doubles point was decided.
The Golden Eagles dropped all six singles matches in straight sets. Hincu had the tightest match at No. 3 singles in a 7-6, 6-4 loss to Mazzeo. Suarez fell in a 6-4, 6-4 decision at No. 4 singles to Fager.
Takamura fell at No. 1 singles to Emery, 6-3, 6-2, Olmos fell at No. 2 singles to McNeill, 6-1, 6-1,
Lea Rolland fell at No. 5 singles to Chavarria, 6-1, 6-2 and
Summer Roybal fell at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1, to Breanna Hiebert.
Cal State LA will return to action with a home match on Wednesday against Azusa Pacific at 1 p.m.
