LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team was unable to break back into the win column Tuesday in a home match against Concordia.
The Golden Eagles, missing two of their top six players in their singles lineup, fell to Concordia, 7-0, at the Cal State LA Tennis Complex. Cal State LA (1-12) lost to Concordia (11-3) for the second time this season.
Courtlyn Lam and
Rochelle Suarez held a 4-3 lead at No. 3 doubles in Cal State LA's best performance of the day. The match was not concluded, though, with the other two doubles contests being completed. At No. 1 doubles,
Sarah Olmos and
Hideka Takamura fell to Sophie Rachor, 6-2, and
Alexandra Hincu and
Lea Rolland fell at No. 3 doubles to Emilie Lugon-Moulin and Bryn Johnson, 6-0.
All six singles contests were decided in straight sets with Hincu battling well in a 6-4, 6-3, loss to Tiffany Carrillo at No. 3 singles. Takamura fell to Rachor at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, Olmos fell to Lugon-Moulin, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, Suarez fell to Jessica Bear at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, Rolland fell to Johnson at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and
Summer Roybal fell to Alicia Da Re, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.
Cal State LA will return to action on Thursday with a home match against Chaminade at 11 a.m.
