TURLOCK -- Cal State LA's women's track and field team braved challenging conditions for a second straight week Saturday at the Kim Duyst Invitational at Stanislaus State.
Last week, it was heavy rain, lightning and wind in the season-opening Cal State LA Invitational. This week, it was cool and breezy conditions. Neither was ideal for marks, but the Golden Eagles had some strong early-season performances on Saturday.
Eden Hahn recorded three top-three finishes, including a relay, to lead the Golden Eagles. She was second in the 200 in 25.44, third in the 100 in 12.31 and she joined
Alyssa Johnson,
Aazalet Danage and
Isis Johnson while finishing second in the 4x100 relay in 48.03.
Alyssa Johnson also finished sixth in the 200 in 26.43, sixth in the long jump with a mark of 16-3.25 and eighth in the 100 in 12.63.
Isis Johnson was also 10th in the 400 in 64.35 and
Riyanna Jackson was 11th in the javelin with a throw of 105-2.
Cal State LA finished fifth in overall team scoring that included both the men's and women's teams from each participating school.
Cal State LA will return to action next weekend at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
