LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team got its 2022 season off to a promising start with a victory over Westmont Friday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles really battled to earn the doubles point and then took five of the six singles contests to beat Warriors, 6-1, at the Cal State LA Tennis Complex.

The doubles contests were highly competitive to open the match and Cal State LA earned the point thanks to a thrilling tiebreaker victory for Noa Davico and Berta Acero at No. 2 doubles over Westmont's Christine Hemry and Olivia Madarang. Cal State LA jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the tiebreaker, saw Westmont cut the margin to 6-4 before Acero smacked the match-winner for the 7-6 victory.
