Cal State LA (9-8, 6-3 CCAA) closed to within two points and had a chance to tie the game, but missed a potential game-tying shot with six seconds left and Chico State (9-5, 4-4 CCAA) held on for the win.

Cal State LA had a 37-30 rebounding edge, but committed 20 turnovers to 16 for Chico State.

The game was close throughout with Chico State leading 19-17 after one quarter and 33-31 at halftime. A 3-pointer by Jackson to open the second half gave the Golden Eagles a 34-33 lead and a 3-pointer by Lee tied the game at 37-37. A layup by Jackson tied it again at 39-39, but Chico State went on a 9-2 run to open up a 48-41 lead. Lee hit a pair of 3-pointers and Delapina hit a pair of free throws to get the Golden Eagles to within 50-49 and a free throw by Fabricius made it 52-50 entering the fourth quarter.

A layup by Taylor gave the Wildcats a 64-54 lead with 4:40 left, but Cal State LA held Chico State without a basket the rest of the way and fought back into contention. A basket by DiRegolo made it 64-56 and a clutch 3-pointer by Delapina made it 64-59 with 1:27 to go. Jackson made one free throw with 38 seconds to go and rebounded her missed second free throw to set up a pair of free throws by Delapina that made it 64-62.
