Golden Eagles Sweep Past Cal State Stanislaus In Three

TURLOCK -- Cal State L.A.'s women's volleyball team got off to an outstanding start on Thursday and never let up in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match against Cal State Stanislaus.

The Golden Eagles (14-12, 11-10 CCAA) won for the fifth time in their last six matches by sweeping the Warriors, 25-10, 25-19, 25-19, Thursday in Warrior Arena. Cal State L.A. will now wrap up the regular season on Friday with a match at Chico State. The Wildcats are ninth and the Golden Eagles are 10th in the most recent regional rankings.

Chelsea Hamilton led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills and a .476 hitting percentage. Kymberly Silveyra had 11 kills and four aces, while Natalia Gonzalez had seven kills.

Cal State L.A. had a 47-26 advantage in kills and hit at a sizzling .343 percentage. Kaylynne Taeatafa had six kills and 38 set assists.

April Reyes and Alexandra Risko both had 10 digs for the Golden Eagles.

Cal State L.A. will conclude the regular season at Chico State. NCAA playoff pairings will be announced on Sunday night.
