A talented coach with a bright future in the sport, Stephen Bernabe returns for his second season with the Cal State LA women’s volleyball staff as an assistant coach.
Bernabe had four years of junior college coaching experience and more than 10 years of experience coaching at high schools in the San Gabriel Valley.
He has been an assistant coach for four CIF champions, beginning in 2009 at Salesian High School. He was also a coach at Cathedral High School when that program won CIF titles from 2012-14.
Bernabe also has club coach experiencing and was the head coach of the Forza Volleyball Club when they won an AAU Gold Medal for 16s in 2016.
Bernabe was a talented player and holds the digs record at El Camino College.
