A talented coach with a vast array of skills, Jimmy Lo returns for his third season as an assistant coach with the Cal State LA women’s volleyball program in 2016.
Lo helped the Golden Eagles to their 19th consecutive winning season in 2015 and to a 19-11 overall record. Cal State LA recorded its most wins since 2009 and qualified for the first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Tournament.
Lo assisted the Golden Eagles to a 17-8 record in 2014 and Cal State L.A. finished third in the CCAA for its best finish since 2009.
Lo came to Cal State L.A. with coaching background at the high school, club and collegiate level. He interned with the UC Santa Barbara women’s volleyball team in 2013.
He started coaching girls volleyball in 2009 as a student assistant coach at Bravo High School and he stayed on as an assistant coach until 2012. He also coached boys volleyball at Bravo High School from 2011-12. At Whittier High School, he coached the boys volleyball team in 2013.
He is currently coaching club volleyball at San Gabriel Elite. In 2015, he assisted San Gabriel Elite’s 15 Elite team that won the SCVA Qualifier in the American Division and 13 Roshambo team that qualified for the Open division at the Junior Nationals in Reno at the Far Western Tournament.
In 2016, he has assisted the 14 Roshambo, which earned an Open at-large bid and 16 Elite, which finished second in the SCVA Qualifier in the USA divison.
Lo received his bachelor of arts degree at UC Santa Barbara and is studying for his Master’s in Sports Management at Long Beach State.
