Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had a strong season in his one year with the program. Appeared in 17 games with 16 starts. Played a total of 1,564 minutes. Had an 8-4-2 record. Allowed 15 goals and had a goals against average of 0.86. Made 59 saves and had a saves percentage of .797. Had four shutouts. Came up big for the Golden Eagles in an NCAA playoff game against Stanislaus State, making 10 saves and forcing three shootout misses to allow Cal State LA to advance, 3-0, after a 1-1 tie on Nov. 12. Made his first Cal State LA appearance and start and made one save in a 1-1 tie at Western Washington on Sept. 3. Made five saves and picked up his first win in a 2-1 victory at Point Loma on Sept. 10. Made two saves and picked up his first shutout in a 2-0 victory over Sonoma State on Sept. 18. Earned a California Collegiate Athletic Association Fall All-Academic Award.

At Cal State Bakersfield: Appeared in 22 games with 17 starts in three seasons with the Roadrunners. Started in 16 games in 2013 and had a 7-7-2 record with a 1.68 goals against average. Made 81 saves and had four shutouts. Earned Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting back-to-back shutouts in wins over Sacramento State and UC Davis. Came in to stop two Seattle University penalty kicks to help Bakersfield prevail in a semi-final match and advance to the WAC finals.

At Bloomington High School: Was named the Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman and sophomore.

Personal: Son of Victor Perez and Judit Espinosa. Majoring in forensic psychology. Enjoys reading and attending sporting events. Lists being selected to play in the New York Red Bull High School Cup in New York as his most exciting experience in sports.
