Cal State LA Athletics

2023: Was on Cal State LA’s track and field roster in the spring and competed in the shot put. Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Had best times of 28:38.94 in the 5,000 meters at the Seawolf Invitational on Sept. 2 and 31:02.0 in the 6,000 at the Cougar Challenge on Sept. 23. Finished 90^th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a 6,000-meter time of 31:24.3.

At Rio Hondo College: Attended, but did not compete due to COVID.

At Arroyo High School: Competed in track and field and cross country. Was a team captain from 2017-20. Was a team Most Valuable Player in 2020 and the Most Improved in 2017. Also earned academic honors.

Personal: Daughter of Asela Sanchez. Majoring in urban learning. Enjoys drawing, reading, traveling, hiking, running and watching movies. Lists helping the cross country team go to state for the first time in school history in high school as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she is not yet in complete shape, but will work hard to surpass her high school self.
