Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Made contributions for the Golden Eagles in her second and final year with the program. Appeared in the last six games of the season and played a total of 143 minutes. Made her season debut and played five minutes in a 0-0 tie against Cal State East Bay on Oct. 25. Had a season-high three shots and played a career-high 40 minutes in a 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 27. For her career, appeared in eight games and a total of 158 minutes. Earned 2024 California Collegiate Athletic Association Fall Honor Roll recognition.

2023: Saw playing time for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Appeared in two games and played a total of 15 minutes. Made her Cal State LA debut and played 15 minutes in a 4-1 win over San Francisco State on Sept. 29. Also came on for Cal State LA’s final shootout attempt in a first-round NCAA Tournament game against Simon Fraser on Nov. 16 despite not playing during regulation or the two overtime periods.

At Dominican University of California: Earned Academic All-Pac West Conference honors from 2019-22.  Tied for the team lead in goals in 2019 with four. Played in 18 games with 12 starts. Was the Newcomer of the Year.

At Fullerton Union High School: Earned first-team All-League honors in 2018 and 2019 and second-team honors in 2017. Led the team in goals scored in 2018 and 2019. Was the team Most Valuable Player in 2018 and 2019. Competed in soccer, volleyball and track and field.

Personal: Daughter of Victor and Luz Avina. Graduated with a degree in business administration and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Cal State LA. Enjoys taking photos on the film camera, being with friends and shopping. Lists scoring the goal for Dominican to tie a game against Concordia, scoring  her first collegiate goal against Menlo College and winning both gold and silver medals at the Mexican Youth Olympics as her most exciting experiences in sports.
