Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had another impressive season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared and started in 16 games and played a total of 1,363 minutes. Was third on the team in minutes played. Played a career-high 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie with Cal State Monterey Bay in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament first-round game in University Stadium on Nov. 10. Played 90 minutes in nine other games. For her career, appeared in 36 games with 34 starts. Played a total of 2,517 minutes.

2023: Was one of the team’s most improved players and became one of the team’s primary defenders in her second year with the program. Appeared in 20 games with 18 starts. Played a total of 1,154 minutes. Made her Cal State LA debut and got her first start in a 1-0 win at Concordia on Aug. 31. Played all 90 minutes. Also got the start and played 90 minutes in a 2-2 tie at Point Loma on Sept. 2. Played 90 minutes in five games and 45 or more minutes in all 20 games. 

2022: Was on the roster, but did not appear in any games for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program.

At Rio Hondo College: Was the team captain both years with the program. Was the Defender of the Year in 2019 and an All-State defender in 2019 and 2021.

At Diamond Bar High School: Competed in soccer, cross country and track and field. Was named the soccer team’s Midfielder of the Year and was a Tri-sport athlete.

Personal: Daughter of Mike and Veronica Valdez. Majoring in business – human resources. Enjoys snowboarding, being at the beach and traveling. Lists being awarded Defender of the Year and making the All-State team in her first year of college as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she has four siblings who also played soccer and that they’ve always been a soccer family.
