Biography

2024: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in 16 games with 14 starts. Played a total of 924 minutes. Had two goals and three assists for seven points. Was second on the team in scoring. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Scored her goals in back-to-back games in October. Scored the second goal in the 50th minute of a 3-1 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 6 and gave the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute on a penalty shot in a 2-0 win over Sonoma State on Oct. 11. Had her first multi-assist game when she had a pair of assists in a season-opening 4-2 win over Westmont on Sept. 5. Assisted on a goal by Syra Valdez in the sixth minute that gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead and had an assist on a goal by Liliana Gonzalez off a corner kick that made it 3-1 in the 60th minute. Had an assist on a game-tying goal by Delia Bocanegra in the 83rd minute of a 1-1 tie against Point Loma on Sept. 14. Played a season-high 73 minutes at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 20. For her career, appeared in 75 games with 57 starts. Played a total of 4,772 minutes. Had nine goals and six assists for 24 points. Finished her career No. 9 in games played.

2023: Had another sensational season for the Golden Eagles and was one of the team’s top players in her third year with the program. Started all 19 games she played in. Played a total of 1,500 minutes. Had four goals and one assist for nine points. Was tied for the team lead in goals and tied for second in points. Earned first-team All-West Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches and second-team honors from the D2 Conference Commissioners Association. Earned first-team All-CCAA honors. Scored her first goal of the season on a penalty kick in a 1-0 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 23. Had the first multi-goal game of her career when she scored twice in a 4-1 win against San Francisco State on Sept. 29. Scored the first goal of the game in the 42nd minute with an assist from Destiny Moedano and gave the Golden Eagles a 4-0 lead in the 57th minute with an assist from Jassmin Ortiz. Scored her fourth goal of the season in the 37th minute of a 2-0 win over Chico State on Oct. 20 with an assist from Liliana Gonzalez. Had an assist on a game-tying goal from Alice Hernandez in a 1-1 draw at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 6. Made her shootout attempt to give Cal State LA a 2-0 advantage in a first-round NCAA Tournament game against Simon Fraser on Nov. 16. Played a career-high 92 minutes in that game.

2022: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her second year with the program. Appeared in all 21 games and started 20 times. Played a total of 1,270 minutes. Had two goals and one assist for five points. Was tied for fourth on the team in scoring. Both goals were game-winners and came in the first three games of the season. Scored on a penalty kick in the fifth minute of a 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona in the season opener on Aug. 27. Scored on a penalty kick in the 50th minute of a 1-0 win over Concordia on Sept. 8. Had an assist on Liliana Gonzalez’ goal in the 12th minute of a 2-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona in a first-round CCAA Tournament game on Oct. 30. Played a season-high 90 minutes in NCAA playoff game against Concordia on Nov. 12 in Hawaii.

2021: Made a big impact for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Appeared in all 19 games and made four starts. Played a total of 1,078 minutes, which was sixth among position players. Had one goal and one assist for three points. Made her Cal State LA debut and played 75 minutes in a 1-1 tie at Concordia on Sept. 4. Made her first start for the Golden Eagles and played 52 minutes against Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 6. Scored her first goal on a penalty kick at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 25. Had an assist on a goal by Irma Pinzon in the 87th minute of a 3-1 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 22. Converted on her penalty kick try to help the Golden Eagles to a 5-3 shootout advancement at San Francisco State after a 1-1 tie in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament first-round game.

At La Salle College Prep: Earned first-team All-League honors in 2018, 2019 and 2021 and was the league Most Valuable Player in 2021. Earned first-team All-Area honors in 2021. Team won a CIF championship in 2019. Earned school academic honors for grade point average increase and had a 4.0 GPA in 2020-21

Personal: Daughter of Ramon and Rita Melin. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys snowboarding, building Legos, listening to music, taking naps and snowboarding. Lists winning a CIF Championship in high school and winning the CCAA Tournament at Cal State LA as her most exciting experiences in sports.
