Cal State LA Athletics

2021-22: Competed in two events for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the program. Shot her season’s best round of 79 in the opening round of the Point Loma Invitational on Sept. 13. Finished with a 36-hole total of 167. Shot rounds of 80 and 81 to finish in a tie for ninth in a dual match with Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 24 and had her best 36-hole total of 161. Finished with an average score of 82.00. Earned 2021-22 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors and earned 2022 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

At Cuyamaca College: Qualified among the top-10 individuals for the Regionals at Via Verde and qualified among the top-two individuals for the state championships at Morro Bay in 2019. Was the team captain for both years at the program.

At Instituto Mexico de Baja California: Did not compete in sports. Earned top-5 GPA awards during her four years in high school and was an Honor Roll student all four years.

Personal: Daughter of Luis and Gabriela Murguia. Majoring in business administration-international business. Enjoys crossfit, heavy lifting and going to Rosarito to surf. Lists attending many tournaments all over Mexico representing the NorOeste team of Baja California and competing in multiple national and regional competitions as an individual and team member since she was 7 years old as her most exciting experiences in sports. Qualified and finished in the top-3 in the most important junior tournament for Mexico’s state championship at the age of nine. Was also part of a Baja California team that competed in the Junior World Match. Played for Cuyamaca College while attending San Diego State in a dual enrollment and took up to 25 units per semester to be able to play. Calls the opportunity to transfer and be part of Cal State LA’s team a dream!
