Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Competed in two races for the Golden Eagles in cross country. Finished 100^th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 30:00.0 over a 6,000-meter course. Also ran for Cal State L.A.’s track and field team in the spring (2015). Had best times of 5:42.16 in the 1,500, 12:34.15 in the 3,000 and 22:15.05 in the 5,000.

At Montebello High School: Competed in basketball, cross country and track and field. Earned Most Improved and Most Valuable awards for running. Track team won an Almont League championship in 2011.

Personal: Daughter of Marcos and Rosa Garcia. Majoring in finance. Enjoys drawing. Lists being able to run at CIF for cross country as her most exciting experience in sports. Was a volunteer at the Special Olympic World Games in 2015.
