Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Competed for Cal State L.A.’s cross country team for a third season. Ran in four races. Finished 93^rd in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 27:53.7 over a 6,000-meter course.  Also ran for the Golden Eagle track team in the spring (2015). Had best times of 5:13.42 in the 1,500, 11:46.83 in the 3,000 and 20:27.66 in the 5,000.

2013: Did not compete for the Golden Eagles.

2012: Ran well in her second season with the Golden Eagle cross country team. Competed in five events. Finished 97^th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 26:38.2 over 6,000 meters. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 20:48.0 at the Cal Baptist Invitational.

2011: Competed in two events in her first season with the Cal State L.A. cross country team.  Had a best 5,000-meter time of 21:19.4 at the UC Riverside Invitational and had a best 6,000-meter time of 25:20.8 at the Cal State Northridge Invitational. Had best times of 5:09.47 in the 1500 meters and 11:14.39 in the 3,000 in her first season with Cal State L.A.’s track and field team in the spring (2012).

At Cantwell Sacred Heart High School: Team won cross country league championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Captured two individual league championships in the 1,600 meters in track and field. Track and field team won league championships in 2008 and 2009. Won Scholar-Athlete awards from 2007-11 and also earned Coaches’  and Inspiration Awards.

Personal: Daughter of Mario and Valerie Perez. Majoring in exercise science and biosciences. Enjoys baking, reading, gardening and hiking. Lists winning the 1,600 meter championship in 2008 as her most exciting experience in sports.
