Summary

Biography

2007: Had a sensational first year with the Golden Eagles and helped the cross country team win the California Collegiate Athletic Association championship and finish fifth in the nation. Earned All-CCAA and All-West Region honors after finishing eighth in the conference championships with a time of 21:32.4 and eighth in the West Region with a time of 21:05.0. Also ran well in the NCAA Division II National Championships, placing 42nd with a time of 21:53.3. Competed for Cal State L.A.’s track and field team and earned second-team All-CCAA honors in 2008 by finishing second in the steeplechase in 11:19.07. Had a best time of 11:09.48 in that event, which was an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. Also had a provisional qualifying mark in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:14.97 and finished fourth in the conference. Placed eighth in the 5,000 with a time of 18:48.81.
 
At Glendale College: Earned All-State honors twice in cross country and led a team that won the Southern California championship and finished second in the state. Team won conference titles both years. Also earned All-State honors in the steeplechase and 10,000 meters in track and field.
 
At Herbert Hoover High School: Competed in cross country and track and field. Qualified for CIF in the mile and had a best time of 5:33 in the mile.
 
Personal: Daughter of Serafin Hernandez and Margarita Molina. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys reading and going to the beach. Lists making it to nationals with Cal State L.A.’s cross country team in 2007 as her most exciting experience in sports.
