Summary

Biography

2007: Was a top-seven runner on the Golden Eagle team that won the California Collegiate Athletic Association championship and finished fifth in the country. Competed in all eight meets for Cal State L.A. Placed 24th in the CCAA Championships with a 6,000-meter time of 22:29.9. Finished 69th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 22:51.0 and placed 126th in the NCAA Division II Championships with a time of 23:24.2. Also ran track and field for the Golden Eagles this past spring and earned All-CCAA honorable mention after finishing third in the 10,000 meters with a time of 38:01.89. Also placed seventh in the 5,000 with a time of 18:37.78.
 
At Glendale College: Was on a team that captured the Southern California title and finished second in the state during her sophomore year and third in the state during her freshman year. Also competed in track and field.
 
At Lincoln Senior High School: Was a MESA (math, engineering, science, achievement) member, a UPP (University Preparatory Program) member and a member of the CSF Honor Society. Was also a member of the Biology Club. Competed in cross country, track and field and soccer.

Personal: Daughter of Luis Castaneda and Rosario Villalobos. Majoring in Spanish. Enjoys swimming, reading, hanging out with friends and movies. Lists participating in the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships last year as her most exciting experience in sports.
