Summary

Biography

2019: Had the best season of her Cal State LA career in the fall with the indoor team and was a key member of the squad in her final year with the program. Was sixth on the team in kills with 102 and seventh in blocks with 32. Appeared in 24 matches. Recorded a season-high 12 kills in Cal State LA’s California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament win over San Francisco State on Nov. 21 and hit at a .348 percentage. Also had 11 kills and a season-high seven blocks in a five-set win over Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 2. For her career, appeared in 58 matches and had a total of 265 kills.

2018: Was off to a tremendous start with the indoor team before season ended because of injury. Appeared in 13 matches and started nine times. Was sixth on the team in kills with 86. Had a season-high 14 kills in a four-set win over Concordia on Sept. 1 and 11 kills in a four-set win over Alaska Fairbanks later that day. Also had 10 kills and four digs in a three-set win at San Francisco State on Sept. 8. Had a career-high 10 digs in a five-set win at UC San Diego on Sept. 25.

2017: Did not compete for Cal State LA and was a redshirt.

2016: Had a promising first season for the Golden Eagles on the indoor team as a true freshman. Was sixth on the team in kills with 77 and sixth in points with 85. Recorded a season-high 12 kills in a five-set match against Cal State East Bay on Oct. 8. Also had 10 kills and four digs in a four-set match against Chico State on Nov. 12. Had eight kills and one block in Cal State LA’s match vs. Sonoma State in the CCAA Championship Tournament on Nov. 17. Was also on Cal State LA’s beach volleyball roster in the spring (2017).

At Duarte High School: Competed in volleyball and softball. Earned All-CIF honors in 2014 and 2015 and All-Montview League recognition as a sophomore, junior and senior. Was the team Most Valuable Player as a senior.

Personal: Daughter of Eva Gutierrez. Majoring in Public Health. Enjoys eating, Netflix, going to the drive-in and going to the beach. Lists going to CIF Finals and having the whole school create a tunnel to the bus and having the entire city cheer the team on as her most exciting experience in sports.
