Summary

Biography

2017: Was limited to only five matches and a total of 14 sets because of injury last year and was a medical redshirt. Had 114 set assists and is No. 5 on Cal State LA’s career list with 3,021. Also had four service aces, six kills and 22 digs.

2016: Had another tremendous season with the Golden Eagles in her third year with the program. Led the team and was fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in set assists with 995. Also led the conference in service aces with 48. Was third on the team in digs with 233 and fourth on the team in blocks with 53. Earned second-team All-CCAA honors. The 48 aces are No. 9 on Cal State LA’s single-season record list. Had a season-high 60 assists in a five-set match against Cal State East Bay on Oct. 8. Had 50 or more set assists in five matches. Set a new career high in service aces with five in a four-set win over the University of Indianapolis on Sept. 2. Also competed for Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team in the spring (2017).

2015: Had a second outstanding season with the Golden Eagles. Led the team with 992 set assists. Appeared in all 30 matches and played in a total of 103 of the team’s 109 sets. Also led the team in service aces with 27 and was fourth on the team in digs with 242. Set a new career high with 66 set assists in a five-set match against Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 13. Had a career-high 20 digs to go along with 57 set assists in a five-set win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 16. Had 50 or more set assists in four matches. Also contributed 57 kills, including a career-high eight at Humboldt State on Oct. 23.

2014: Had a sensational first season with the Golden Eagles. Was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year after leading Cal State LA with 920 set assists and 29 service aces. Became the second CCAA Freshman of the Year in the program’s history and the first since 2002. Appeared in 24 of 25 matches and played a total of 90 sets. Also had 58 kills and was fourth on the team with 188 digs. Recorded a season-high 58 set assists in a five-set win at Chico State on Oct. 4. Had more than 50 set assists in four matches. Had a season-high seven kills in a four-set win at UC San Diego on Sept. 19. Had a season-high 14 digs to go along with 52 set assists and five kills in a four-set win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Nov. 1.

At Monrovia High School: Earned All-Rio Hondo League honors as a senior. Received her school’s Scholar-Athlete award after posting a 4.2 grade point average in 2013-14. Also earned honorable mention in 2013 for a library bookmark art contest. Was a two-time Summer League Most Valuable Player. Also competed for the swim team in high school.

Personal: Daughter of Steve and Tracy Molnar. Majoring in graphic design. Enjoys designing, beach volleyball, traveling and building sand castles with Kat. Lists her first college match against Sonoma State as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she has two sisters, the older is in musical theater and the younger is a water polo players. Says she plans to play overseas after college and progress to beach volleyball.
