Biography

2024-25: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her fourth and final year with the program. Started all 28 games for the Golden Eagles and played a total of 935 minutes. Led the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game and was second in rebounding with 6.5 per game and second in assists with 2.5 per game. Was also second on the team in steals with 41. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors, becoming the second player in program history to earn first-team honors four times and the first to do it in four consecutive seasons. Scored a season-high 32 points with seven rebounds in an 84-80 overtime win at Stanislaus State (2-15-25). Had 18 points, six assists, four rebounds and four blocks, including a game-preserving block with time running out of a 74-73 win over Azusa Pacific (11-22-24). Had 21 points and nine rebounds in a 63-55 overtime win over Western Washington (11-9-24). Had 22 points and a season-high 12 rebounds in a career-high 51 minutes of playing time in at Cal State San Bernardino (1-2-25). Scored 20 or more five times and reached double figures in scoring 18 times. Had two double-doubles. Earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators for the third year in a row. Also earned a 2024-25 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2024-25 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2024-25 CCAA Winter Academic Honor Roll recognition. For her career, appeared in 114 games with 114 starts. Played a total of 3,694 minutes. Averaged 14.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Reached double figures in scoring 80 times and scored 20 or more points in 22 games. Also had 20 career double-doubles. Established new program records for most starts (114) and free throws made (379) and was No. 2 in points (1,623), rebounds (885), No. 3 in steals (214), No. 4 in field goals (566) and No. 6 in blocks (68).

2023-24: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in her third year with the program. Started all 30 games for the Golden Eagles and played a total of 935 minutes. Led the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game and rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per contest. Also led the team with 51 steals. Was sixth in the CCAA in rebounding. Earned second-team All-Region honors from the D2 College Commissioners Association. Earned first-team All-CCAA honors for a third straight season. Scored a season-high 30 points to go along with four rebounds and three steals in a 78-66 win at Chico State (2-24-24). Had 24 points and five rebounds in CCAA Tournament semifinal game against Cal State San Marcos (3-7-24). Also had 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 92-68 win over Chico State (1-18-24). Had a season-high 16 rebounds and 11 points against Cal Poly Pomona (1-4-24). Earned CCAA All-Tournament honors for a third straight season. Reached double figures in scoring 22 times and scored 20 or more points five times. Reached double figures in rebounding 11 times. Led the team with nine double-doubles. An outstanding student, earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators for a second straight year. Also earned 2023-24 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2023-24 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2024 CCAA Winter Honor Roll recognition.

2022-23: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her second year with the program. Was the only player to start all 30 games for the Golden Eagles and was second on the team in minutes played with 1,012. Averaged 15.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Led the team in rebounding and steals (74) and was second in scoring, assists and blocked shots (23). Was fourth in the conference in scoring, second in rebounds and fourth in steals. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors for a second straight season. Became the first Cal State LA player since 2013 to earn All-Region honors and the first since 2003 to earn first-team honors after earning recognition from the D2 College Commissioners Association. Tied a CCAA Tournament record with a season-high 30 points in a semifinal game against Cal State San Marcos (3-3-23). Also had 18 points in a 75-63 win over Sonoma State in a first-round game, giving her 48 points in the two games. Earned CCAA All-Tournament honors for a second straight year. Also had a game-high 18 points in NCAA playoff game against Montana State Billings (3-10-23). Was the game’s leading scorer in all three postseason contests for the Golden Eagles. Had a 29-point, 14-rebound double-double in a 79-72 win over Humboldt State (2-25-23). Had 21 points, a season-high 15 rebounds and a season-high six assists in a 76-60 win at Cal Poly Humboldt (1-12-23). Had 22 points, nine rebounds and a career-high eight steals in an 89-68 win at Stanislaus State (12-3-22). Reached double figures in scoring 23 times and in rebounding 12 times. Had 10 double-doubles. Scored 20 or more points six times. Earned CCAA Player of the Week honors twice, once for the week of Nov. 8-13 and the other for the week of Feb. 20-26. An outstanding student, earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators. Earned a 2022-23 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award and 2022-23 CCAA All-Academic honors. Also received CCAA Winter Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2021-22: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Earned first-team All-CCAA honors and was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year. Also earned CCAA All-Tournament team honors. Was second on the team in scoring with 14.6 points per game and second on the team with 8.3 rebounds. Led the team with 48 steals. Was fifth in the conference in scoring and fifth in rebounding. Led the team and was tied for fourth in the conference with 81 free throws. Was sixth in the conference with a free-throw percentage of .757. Appeared in 26 games and started all 26. Played a total of 812 minutes, which was second on the team. Poured in a season-high 34 points to go with a season-high 19 rebounds in a 76-65 win at Cal State San Bernardino (1-20-22). Also had 27 points in an 87-73 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills (12-4-21). Scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a first-round CCAA Tournament win over Sonoma State (3-3-22) and followed that up with 20 points and nine rebounds in the semifinal against Cal State East Bay (3-4-22). Earned CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 17-23 after the 34-point game at Cal State San Bernardino and adding 13 points at Cal Poly Pomona. Made her Cal State LA debut and got her first start against Biola (11-12-21). Had an outstanding first game with 22 points and 13 rebounds in 41 minutes. Reached double figures in scoring 17 times and in rebounding five times. Had five double-doubles. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors. Was named Cal State LA’s Freshman of the Year.

At Long Beach Poly High School: Was named the CIF Division 1 Player of the Year in 2020-21. Was a Pursuit of Excellence Medalist in 2021. Was a two-time Moore League Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American nominee. Helped her team win four consecutive Moore League championships. Earned Straight As throughout high school.

Personal: Daughter of Andrew and Mary Buggs. Majoring in natural science. Enjoys reading, painting and stargazing. Lists playing in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she has three siblings, Drew, Chloe and Luke.
