Cal State LA Athletics

2023-24: Made significant contributions for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Shared the team lead in doubles victories with partner Courtlyn Lam. Was 5-12 overall and 4-11 in dual matches. Had a 4-14 record in singles, including a 3-13 mark in dual matches. Picked up the first singles point of her Cal State LA career with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles against Westmont on Feb. 2. Earned her first dual match victory in doubles with Lam at No. 3 doubles against Dominican on Feb. 18. Earned a pair of points for the Golden Eagles, taking a doubles contest with Lam at No. 3 doubles and then posting a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles in a 4-3 Cal State LA win over Hope International on April 10. An outstanding student, earned a 2023-24 ITA Scholar-Athlete award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and was instrumental in Cal State LA earning an ITA All-Academic Team award. Also earned 2023-24 Academic All-PacWest Conference honors.

At Palm Desert High School: Captured Desert Empire League singles championships as a sophomore in 2020 and a junior in 2021 and was a singles finalist in 2022. Played four years on varsity. Played at No. 2 singles as a freshman and earned the Rookie of the Year award. Moved up to the No. 1 singles position as a sophomore and earned team MVP award.

Personal: Daughter of Rodrigo and Teresa Suarez. Majoring in computer science. Enjoys traveling, the arts and spending time with family and friends. Lists having a late, last-minute season during distance learning as a sophomore and ending up in the CIF finals for the first time in 11 years as her most exciting experience in sports.
