Dale Legaspi

Dale Legaspi returns for his fourth season with the Cal State LA staff, working with outfielders, handling development of the offensive short game and assisting in recruiting.

In his time with the Golden Eagles, Legaspi has overseen an outfield that has included two All-Conference and All-Region players.

During the summers, he serves as the hitting coach for the Duluth (Minn.) Huskies of the Northwoods Collegiate Baseball League, a position he’s held since 2015, when the team finished second in the North Division and led the league in hitting. Previously, he was the hitting coach for the 2014 Southern California Collegiate Baseball League champion Palm Springs Power. The Power finished with a record of 41-8 and compiled a team batting average of .319.

His previous coaching experience includes stints at John Burroughs High School in Burbank, St. Joseph-Notre Dame in Alameda and Crespi Carmelite in Encino, where he worked with numerous players who went on to play NCAA Division I and professional baseball.

Legaspi played collegiately at USC from 2002-2005 under longtime head coach and current UC Irvine head coach Mike Gillespie. The Trojans reached the Super Regionals twice during his collegiate career. Additionally, he was a 2003 All-Star with the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods Collegiate League.

He is a two-time graduate of USC’s Annenberg School for Communication, earning his bachelor’s degree in public relations in 2005 and completing his M.A. in 2016. He resides in Burbank.
