Cal State LA Athletics

2019: Had a second solid season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Had best times of 22.91 in the 200 meters, 50.54 in the 400 and 2:00.24 in the 800. Was on Cal State LA's 4x400 relay team that finished sixth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 3:21.01. For his career, had best marks of 22.91 in the 200, 50.54 in the 400 and 1:57.12 in the 800.

2018: Had a solid first season with the Golden Eagles. Recorded best times of 50.69 in the 400 and 1:57.12 in the 800. Was 10^th in the CCAA Championships in the 800.

2017: Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall and ran in five races. Finished 86^th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 29:29.9 over 8,000 meters.

At Long Beach City College: Finished third in the 800 meters in the South Coast Conference and qualified for the Southern California Championships.

At Mount Vernon High School: Competed in track and field.

Personal: Son of Philip Powell and Sonia Pennicooke. Majoring in political science. Enjoys jamming to the Reggae beat.
