After generating four shots and one corner kick in the opening half, Cal State LA intensified its attack following the break. The Golden Eagles recorded seven shots and seven corner kicks over the final 45 minutes.

Martinez provided an insurance goal at the 76:16 mark, finding the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0. Cal State LA kept the pressure on after the goal, producing three more corner kicks and another shot on target during the closing minutes.
