STOCKTON -- Cal State LA's women's golf team held onto a share of second place on the final day of the California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
The Golden Eagles opened up a double-digit lead for second during the final round on Wednesday, but were ultimately caught by Cal State Monterey Bay down the stretch. The Golden Eagles and Otters both finished with scores of 922. Cal State San Marcos won the team title for the seventh straight season.
Cal State LA was second in the CCAA tournament for a second straight season.
Joshlyn Ayala finished third and earned All-Tournament honors for a second straight year. She was also third in the tourney in 2025.
She was within two shots of tournament winner Abby Sickles of Cal State San Marcos during the final round and was 1-under-par for the day through eight holes before finishing with a 5-over-par 77 for a three-day score of 220. Sickles, who opened the tournament with eight straight birdies and led wire-to-wire, finished with a 1-under-par total of 215, one shot ahead of teammate Ellaclair Leedom, who was second at 216.
Ayala was second in the tournament with nine birdies.
Rilee Crosby shot a final round of 78 on Wednesday and finished in a tie for eighth at 233. She was tied for second in the tournament with 35 pars.
Sarah Amaya was next for the Golden Eagles. She shot a final round of 80 and finished in a tie for 12th with a 54-hole score of 235.
Talia Gutman and
Daniela Andrade finished in a tie for 14th place after finishing with scores of 237. Both shot final rounds of 79.
Cal State LA will now await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field. The Golden Eagles were sixth in the most recent NCAA West Region poll.
