LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's men's basketball team was unable to slow down a hot-shooting Cal Poly Humboldt in a California Collegiate Athletic Association contest.

The Golden Eagles fell behind by 10 points at halftime and ultimately fell to the Lumberjacks, 77-66, Thursday night in University Gym. The 'Jacks shot 50 percent for the game and, even more damaging for the Golden Eagles, 50 percent from 3-point range, making 12 of their 24 long-range attempts.

Deraje Agbaosi had another big game for the Golden Eagles (6-13, 5-8 CCAA), pouring in a game-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. Isaiah Fields had 13 points and four rebounds and Donovan Vickers had 11 points.

Drew Ardouin had a team-high 17 points to lead the Lumberjacks (12-7, 10-3 CCAA), who had five players reach double figures in scoring. Rob Jenkins had 13 points and eight assists, Brandon Bento-Jackson had 12 points and Wayne Hampton III and Shakir Odunewu had 10 points each.

Khemanni Davis and Michael Pearson Jr. had nine points each for the Golden Eagles.

Cal State LA shot 43.1 percent for the game (25-of-58) and was 8-of-24 from 3-point range. The Golden Eagles were 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Cal Poly Humboldt shot 50 percent (25-of-50) overall and was 12-of-24 from 3-point range. The 'Jacks were 15-of-17 from the free-throw line. The Golden Eagles stayed within one point at 13-12 after a 3-pointer from Vickers, but Cal Poly Humboldt got hot and built leads as large as 13 points before taking a 41-31 halftime lead.

Cal State LA scored the first seven points of the second half on a 3-pointer by Fields and pair of layups by Agbaosi to pull to within 41-38, but that was as close as the Golden Eagles could get. A 3-pointer by Davis made it 49-45 with 12:43 to go, but the 'Jacks responded with a 13-2 run to open up a 62-47 lead with 8:06 left. The Golden Eagles weren't able to get closer than nine points after that.
