LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw with Cal State East Bay on Friday night in University Stadium as the California Collegiate Athletic Association standings continue to bunch closer and closer together.
The Golden Eagles (6-3-4, 3-3-1) snapped a three-game losing streak with the hard-fought draw and find themselves in a huge battle for one of the six conference tournament spots with four matches remaining. Cal State LA has 10 points and is in a three-way tie for fifth place with Cal Poly Humboldt and Cal State Dominguez Hills and just one point behind a trio of teams tied for second with 11 points.
Cal State East Bay (6-5-3, 2-3-2 CCAA) is also in the mix with eight points, just two points out of fifth and three points out of second.
The Golden Eagles and Pioneers battled Friday in a defensive showcase with neither team able to generate many chances in the contest. Cal State East Bay's Lexie Randolph probably had the best chance in the 10th minute when her shot went off the crossbar from point-blank range.

Taesja Paopao made four saves for the Golden Eagles and recorded her sixth shutout of the season and the 18th of her sensational Cal State LA career.Â

Cal State East Bay had a narrow 8-7 edge in shots and a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Peytyn Mize had two shots for the Golden Eagles, while

Presli Dillon and
Carisia Raygoza had one shot each. Defenders

Jaclyn Orozco played 90 strong minutes for the Golden Eagles.
Cal State LA will return to action on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. against Cal State San Marcos in the Golden Eagles' final regular-season home game of the season.
