LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's basketball team completed a successful week of California Collegiate Athletic Association play with a big conference win over San Francisco State on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles led from start to finish in an 86-41 win over the Gators Saturday in University Gym. The Golden Eagles had a tremendous game on the boards and finished with a 63-27 rebounding edge. Anai Washington posted new season highs with 26 and 14 rebounds to lead the way. Jada Johnson had a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with nine points.

Cal State LA (7-9, 6-5 CCAA) is now in fifth place in the CCAA after winning for the third time in four contests.

Nicole Flennaugh added 17 points and Yesenia Smith had a career-high 14 points and nine rebounds in an outstanding performance. 

Jolene Armendariz and Alexsandra Alvarado had 11 points each to lead the Gators (6-11, 4-9 CCAA).

Lily Buggs had eight points and eight rebounds, Raya Smith had eight points and six rebounds and Melena Bland had four points and five rebounds.

The Golden Eagles shot 47.3 percent for the game (35-of-74) and made 5-of-16 from 3-point range. San Francisco State shot just 23 percent (14-of-61) and was just 2-of-21 from 3-point range. Cal State LA was 11-of-19 from the free-throw line, while San Francisco State was 11-of-17.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 20-7 lead after one quarter and led 43-21 at halftime. Cal State LA led 70-36 after three quarters and added to that lead with a 16-5 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Cal State LA will return to action on Thursday with a road game at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
