SEASIDE -- Cal State LA's California Collegiate Athletic Association match against Cal State Monterey Bay has been canceled due to a COVID-19 situation within the Otter program, the university announced on Friday afternoon.
The match will not be rescheduled.
Per conference regulations, the match will be considered a win for Cal State LA's conference record and a loss for the Otters. Per NCAA guidelines, the match will be considered a no-contest and not factored into either team's overall record.
Cal State LA, therefore, remains at 7-3 overall and is now 3-0 in conference play. Cal State Monterey Bay is also 7-3 overall and now 1-3 in conference play after also canceling Saturday's scheduled match vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Golden Eagles will return to action on Saturday with a road match at San Francisco State beginning at 5 p.m.
