With competitions currently paused, Cal State LA Athletics will be highlighting big stories from the historical archives in an "On This Day" feature. In this installment, on Feb. 5, 2010, Cal State LA's women's indoor track and field team won dual meet scoring to win the championship at the Run For The Dream meet in Fresno.
FRESNO -- Cal State L.A.'s women's indoor track and field team posted several outstanding marks and won the team competition at the Run For The Dream meet in Fresno. The Golden Eagles won dual meet scoring against Azusa Pacific, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State Stanislaus, Cal State Bakersfield, Fresno Pacific, Fresno State and USC.
Shianne Smith recorded a strong provisional NCAA Division II qualifying mark while winning the long jump and the distance medlay and 4x145 relay teams recorded victories as well.Â
Jamilah St. Cyr also recorded a pair of provisional marks, one in the 55 hurdles and the other in the shot put while competing in the pentathlon andÂ
Liliana Hernandez got a provisional mark in the 5,000 meters late in the meet.
Tuekeha Huntley won the pentathlon and recorded a provisional qualifying mark with 3,391 points..
Smith won the long jump with a mark of 19-1.50, while Cal State L.A. picked up wins in the 4x145 meter relay withÂ

St. Cyr posted a qualifying mark of 44-7 in the shot put in the pentathlon and also got one by taking second in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.10.Â
Jubrey was seventh in the 55 meters with a time of 7.26, which matches her best time in the event from last year.
Cal State L.A. will return to action next weekend at the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday and Saturday.
