LAS VEGAS -- Cal State LA's women's basketball team opened its exhibition season Wednesday night at NCAA Division I UNLV.

The Golden Eagles got big performances from freshman Lily Buggs and sophomore Nicole Flennaugh in a 106-45 loss to UNLV. Buggs led the Golden Eagles with 15 points, while Flennaugh, the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Freshman of the Year in 2019-20, added 12 points. Iyanna Lamb added nine points for the Golden Eagles.

Cal State LA will return to action with another exhibition game against a Division I opponent, Pepperdine, on Friday at 7 p.m. in Malibu.
