Cal State LA got off to a strong start and built a 46-30 lead before settling for a 46-32 halftime advantage.

The Golden Eagles still led by 15 points after a layup by Michael-Isaiah Ajiboye made it 53-38 with 17:37 to go and had an 11-point edge after a free throw by CJ Fisher made it 55-44 with 14:51 to go.

A three-point play by Dawkins kept the margin at 60-51 with 12 minutes to go, but Humboldt State went on a run and took the lead for good at 68-67. A layup by Dawkins kept it a one-point game at 74-73 with 4:54 remaining and a 3-pointer by Fard Muhammad kept it at 84-79.
